According to USA Today, the Department of Justice has spent a total of $29.4 million on investigations into President Donald Trump and his associates since 2016, compared to $6.4 million for investigations into Democratic candidate Joe Biden and his associates. This includes both criminal and counterintelligence investigations.

The biggest expense for the Biden-related investigations was for the investigation into Hunter Biden, son of Joe Biden, which totaled $4.8 million. The other investigations related to Joe Biden totaled $1.6 million. These investigation include the investigation into the Ukraine gas company, Burisma.
The exact purposes and scope of many of these investigations are unknown as they are ongoing.
