The release of a limited-edition pink Stanley Quencher Starbucks cup at Target stores quickly sparked chaos among customers and store employees. Hundreds of customers lined up outside of certain stores while social media posts broadcasted the cup’s arrival with fans hoping to get their hands on the coveted cups.
The limited-edition cups, inspired by the iconic Starbucks reusable cup, were only available through Target’s online store and in a few select stores across the United States.
The crowded lines of customers left some store employees scrambling to provide additional security measures and there were reports of crowded aisles and fights breaking out between customers over the cups.
Target released a statement saying that they were “working quickly” to address the situation, adding that “safety is always our priority.”
The store also advised customers to reach out to their Customer Service team if they had any questions about the cup.
This incident serves as a reminder that when popular items go on sale, shoppers should be aware of their surroundings and take their safety into consideration.
